Put Self First. As it says. He doesn't really care about his surroundings and would mind his importance first.
Mischievous. Gretchen is used to lie, trick, and poison people in order to get what he wants. Even so, he could never kill anyone.
Dependable. He may look like a coward and clumsy and he really is, when it comes to physical battle;;; but you could actually rely on him at times. Like, doing groceries, sewing, cooking;;;;; lol He's used to do many things, even the dirty ones, in order for him to survive his life. With his looks and act, he could quite easily get information and go into places where people aren't normally allowed.
Masochist. He used to be bullied by people around him. The pain was very much frequent and sometimes intense he almost couldn't barely hold anymore that it comes to the point of enjoyment... He'd try to avoid any harm to himself, but when someone do it to him (and he couldn't endure), he'd go blushing and ending up asking for more, though he knew it's not good for him. But of course he'd resist when the pain could lead to his death;;;
THE PAST
Gretchen was left on an orphanage when he was a baby, and not long after, he got adopted by a family. He was treated very well by his foster family, and received a very good education. During his childhood, he's often bullied by children in his neighborhood for his girly look and of his incapable to speak, but his foster family would defend him, and his foster brother was also protective and loving so he was pretty much okay.
But one day, he was 12 at that time, a weird living blob appeared before him and wouldn't stop lurking near him wherever he goes. His family knew it was an omen people usually talk about; that maybe Gretchen wasn't normal, he was a creature that should be feared.
His family told him about this, and also about the bad things which may occur later in near future. But they promised they would protect him no matter what it costs.
Time goes by, and much more bullying happened both to Gretchen and to his family; none would sell things to them, and people would stay away while saying bad things and lies about them. It was horrible but they stayed together through their hardships.
One day, the father was terribly ill and needed quick medications. But none would help him. The local doctors knew that they raised 'a monster' so they wouldn't even receive their calls. They were poor at that moment, so they couldn't afford any transportation to other region to get the father further medical treatments.
The mother was depressed and didn't want to see Gretchen, the father was very sick he couldn't move from his bed, and the brother grew cold to him. Everybody knew things couldn't be like this forever, so they decided to get Gretchen out of the house forever. The brother rode a bike and get him somewhere far, one night, and gave him a bag containing things he may need later. He then left without saying a word to Gretchen, about to turn 13.
Gret's hatred toward the current humanity grew a deep root within him for the incident and also to the change of his family's behavior to him.
Ever since, he moves from one place to another, tricking people to get some food and places to sleep.
THE PRESENT
And one day, he met his later partner, Madaline, who was looking all starving, when he was hiding from certain people. Gretchen gave her the food he had with him (they were all poisoned), planning to take anything worth to take from the girl once she's collapsed. Strangely, nothing happened, and the girl continued digging for more. Apparently the girl was very immune to poisons and such, so none of Gretchen's creations came to a satisfying result.
They were chatting (texting, for Gretchen) when a man suddenly approaches them, implying Gretchen as a monster and his intention to end her life (he thought Gretchen was a girl;;;; ). Madaline tapped the man and lightly told him to play with her instead... which definitely was ignored by the man. Nuff said, he later started beating Gretchen with the pipe he brought, and the boy couldn't get away from any of his blows.
Just half a minute after, the man's heart suddenly came to a failure and led him to his death. (later discovered as Madaline's special ability, "Death Tag")
Gretchen directly knew that Madaline also isn't a normal person, just like him, but that day they separated ways and never see each other again.
One day, some courier handed him a letter from the Academy, which he opened and followed the instructions and then enrolled to the mentioned place.
But because of his clumsiness, he enrolled to Hell's Dorm instead of Heaven's Dorm. He probably thought that the name resembles all; getting into 'Heaven' was never in his mind, so he chose 'Hell'; he kind of mixed up the information of each dorm he got.
However, he then met up with Madaline again in the same academy as a partner. Being paired with Madaline who was purely evil, he felt that it wasn't really bad being in the wrong dorm; they could mess it up from inside together by acting/covering it all as if they're one's members.

- He treats Goutte as a thing. Goutte in French means "drops".
- Gretchen specializes in acting as an uke boy/girl

- When seeing someone in a pinch, his urge to do harm to that person appears >u> ;; Like, kicking, punching, stabbing. Kicking is probably the one he frequently does lol
